The body usually hosts a wide range of microorganisms, including micro organism and fungi. A few of these are helpful to the body. Others might, under certain circumstances, multiply rapidly and trigger infections. Athlete's foot happens when a particular sort of fungus grows and multiplies in your toes (particularly between your toes) or, much less commonly, your hands.
Of the fungal infections generally known as tinea infections, Athlete's foot is the most common. It could occur at the same time as other fungal pores and skin infections resembling ringworm or jock itch. These fungi thrive in warm, moist areas. Your risk for getting athlete's foot will increase when you:
•Put on closed shoes, especially if they're plastic-lined
•Maintain your ft wet for prolonged intervals of time
•Sweat a lot
•Develop a minor pores and skin or nail damage
Athlete's foot is contagious, and can be passed via direct contact, or contact with objects comparable to footwear, stockings, and bathe or pool surfaces
