Candidiasis or thrush is a fungal an infection (mycosis) of any of the Candida species (all yeasts), of which Candida albicans is the most common. Also commonly known as a yeast an infection, candidiasis can be technically often known as candidosis, moniliasis, and oidiomycosis.308

Candidiasis encompasses infections that range from superficial, reminiscent of oral thrush and vaginitis, to systemic and doubtlessly life-threatening diseases.
